Old MacDonalds Farm, Able Tasman
Able Tasman is world famous for its coastal tracks that pass though rain forests, over granite cliffs and along golden sandy beaches. Located in Marahau at the southern end of Abel Tasman National Park, just 400 meters from the Park is Old MacDonald’s Farm, a family run Holiday Park and Camping ground.
Its a quirky place to stay and a great base for walks and kayaking, we stayed in one of stand alone cabins, it had a double bed and a bunkbed, share laundry, showers, toilets and kitchen facilities, it looks like a shed but was nice inside.
According to the Old MacDonald’s Farm website it costs NZ$80 a night, i don’t remember it costing that much, more like the NZ$22 each to stay in the dorm or backpackers cabin. You can also camp for NZ$12 per person per night. Well worth a stay if your visiting Able Tasman.
