Backpacking in Cambodia

Thailand

Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world, having suffered devastating atrocities at the hands of the Khmer Rouge the country has found its self with a major gap in its population. Visiting Cambodia is a humbling experience, the people have so little and have suffered so greatly (almost everyone you meet has a relative killed by the awful regime or themselves survived it) Thailand is known as the land of smiles but Cambodian people are in my opinion the friendliest of Southeast Asia.

We travelled briefly in Cambodia to see the awe-inspiring 9th to 13th century temples at Angkor Wat but found an incredible country that we would deeply love to explore more.
