Round the world tickets & multi-stop flights guide

There are a number of round the world tickets (also referred to as RTW) and multi stop flights available and it can be a confusing job trying to find the most appropriate round the world ticket. Below is a guide of the tickets available.

Before you do anything you need to decide where in the world you want to go, you may well be limited by price and a key to maximising you budget is finding a cheap round the world ticket or multi-stop flight.

For many round the world tickets you have to play by certain rules, such as travelling in one direction, limitation on miles and number of stops that can be had. Another difficulty can be combining different continents if you don’t want to do the normal Asia and Australasia.

Its well worth remembering that round the world flights tickets don’t include taxes which can often be as much as £200-£300.

How to book multi stop flights online

Its not always that easy to book RTW flights online, but here are some options:

  • Lastminute.com – You can get a multi stop quotes online
  • BA World Discovery – Ticket can be booked online with BA

If you know any other good places add your comments on best place to buy RTW tickets, previously we bought round the world tickets from The Traveller. Another option is just to go for single flights, look for cheap flights at Twenga.

    • About Ben’s Backpacking Travel Blog

The main aim of this travel blog is to share travel experiences and hopefully inspire others to travel. When researching my own travels I always focus on the photos and with that in mind I've tried to place an emphasis on travel photos of my favourite destinations. I've also tried to focus on those places to visit and things to do that are slightly off the beaten track of the normal backpacking trip.

My blog covers past experiences backpacking around the world and my current travels where so far I've been lucky enough to travel in the South Pacific, Australasia, South East Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
