Camping in Camelford, North Cornwall
By Ben • May 30th, 2008 • Category: Camping, Cornwall, England, Places to stayJust spent a great surfing weekend in Camelford (not toe), we stayed in a great campsite Kings Acre Touring Park, don’t let the name put you off, it’s a nice sized site in a lovely location.
Camelfords got all you need and its a short walk through the fields from the campsite. Obviously, being North Cornwall, there’s some great beaches near by, we went for a surf at Trebarwith Strand, a really nice beach with a great rocky backdrop and didn’t go for a surf at Widemouth beach near Bude.
On our second day there’s a nice relaxed cycle ride along the Camel trail, an old railway line from Wadebridge to Padstow (aka Rick Steinsville)
We spent the evenings in Camelford, one evening with a BBQ at the campsite then on to the Masons Arms and the second, a bizarre lock-in in the Ghurkha Indian restaurant.
Ben is living and working in Brighton, England, wishing to be able to travel the world again soon.
